Skiing in Mürren

Mürren-Schilthorn

The highest skiing area in the Bernese Oberland

The Mürren–Schilthorn ski area offers slopes for every level. Beginners can take their first turns in the ski school area right in the car-free village of Mürren, while kids enjoy playful waves and banked turns on the Allmendhubel kids’ slope. Adrenaline seekers shouldn’t miss Slope 9, the “Direttissima” – with an 88% incline, it’s the steepest run in the Jungfrau Region. Freestylers can hit the kickers, rails and boxes in the Pända Snowpark.

Not skiing or snowboarding? No problem. The Schilthorn region also offers scenic winter hikes and fast sledging runs past snowy forests and chalets. And yes – even James Bond stopped by, though he probably didn’t have time to enjoy it all. One ski pass opens the entire Jungfrau Region – from Mürren–Schilthorn to Wengen, Männlichen, Kleine Scheidegg and all the way to Grindelwald-First.

Lessons in the snow

“The beginner makes more progress in three days than his father did in three weeks.”

This sentence appears on an advertisement published in England after the snow sports schools in the Jungfrau Region were formed. But skiing isn’t all there is to learn here. You can also dive into winter in a variety of ways on guided tours.

Rental equipment

It’s unbelievable how many activities you can try in the Jungfrau Region. Fortunately, you don’t need your own equipment for every single one of them. Anything you don’t have can be rented from selected shops in Mürren.
