The ways to Mürren
How do you get to the car-free mountain village of Mürren?
Mürren lies on a mountain ledge 800 metres above the Lauterbrunnen Valley. From the valley, you can only get there by public transport.
Connections are guaranteed every half hour between 6 am and at least 11.45 pm.
The nearest airports are Zurich and Basel. The travel time to the Lauterbrunnen Valley is 1.5 to 2 hours.
Geneva airport is a little further away.
Arrival by public transport
International train connections bring you comfortably via Interlaken Ost to Lauterbrunnen.
Option 1: From Lauterbrunnen, take the cable car to Grütschalp, change to a small train (BLM) and travel to Mürren.
Option 2: In Lauterbrunnen, change to the bus which brings you to Stechelberg. From there take the gondola (Schilthornbahn) via Gimmelwald to Mürren.

Arrival by car
Take the highway A6/A8 to Interlaken and leave it at the Wilderswil exit. After about 15 minutes you will reach Lauterbrunnen.
Option 1: Park your car in the Lauterbrunnen car park and walk to the cable car station of the Mürrenbahn (BLM). From there take the gondola and train via Grütschalp to Mürren.
Option 2: Continue by car through the Lauterbrunnen valley to Stechelberg. Park at the bottom station of the Schilthorn cable car and take the gondola via Gimmelwald to Mürren.
Travelling with limited mobility
The Schilthorn cable car is wheelchair accessible. This means guests with limited mobility can visit the mountain village Mürren and the Schilthorn summit.
