A Weekend in Mürren – Easter Edition
Jungfrau Region's Blogbuster Series / Nr. 05
Once upon a time there was a place up in the Bernese Alps..
Surrounded by giant mountains and nestled in a unique landscape. A place without cars but with a fantastic view to the famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau instead.
410 inhabitants, 1 supermarket, two and a half men - oh, i meant bars, sorry. 2 and a half bars (Gondelbar is only open during winter season). Located at 1650 metres above sea level, overlooking and almost floating above the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Sounds like out of a fairy-tale? Well, it’s not. It’s the charming, alpine village called Mürren characterized by the typical wooden chalets and its authentic ambiance.
We thought about what we would want to be doing once we manage to sneak away from the family’s Easter brunch. So here’s our (hypothetical) itinerary if, somehow, we get bored wherever we spend the Easter break. Don’t worry, it’ll stay between us if you don’t show up at the traditional Easter lunch with your great great-grandma. Just make sure to come up with a good excuse or even better - bring along your family and friends and enjoy Mürren together with the following easter specials.
#Easter-Fun at the Alpine Sports Centre
Easter Fun! Dive into the swimming pool, find your easter egg and get a surprise! We really don’t know if they hid easter eggs in the swimming pool - but you’ll find out.
#Easter-brunch
Enjoy brunch from 8 till 11am on 21st of April at the Grütschalp Station and be part of the Easter Egg Hunt between Grütschalp, Winteregg und Mürren. Perfect way to avoid food coma ;)
Obviously, Mürren has way more to offer than just fabulous Easter Specials. It’s actually pretty splendid throughout the whole spring time. I’m not even going to mention the way it all starts to sparkle once the first soft rays of sun hit the village when the sun rose over the Kleine Scheidegg. Maybe a last bit of snow left - a reminder of a gorgeous winter - and spring flowers blossoming at the same time - you will want to see it! Trust me on that one.
So, since we don’t want you to miss out on all the fun and beauty, we’re happy to provide you with spring activities that’ll cheer up even the most fanatic winter lovers:
Thrill Walk
Thrill Walk: A cliff pathway under Birg cableway station. A spine-tingling mountain experience of superlatives!

Fondue evening at the igloo-village

- The cable car and all the stations in the Schilthorn area are wheelchair-friendly
