Isenfluh and Sulwald
Fabulous views off the beaten track.
The small mountain village of Isenfluh lies at an altitude of around 1,024 metres above sea level, overlooking the Lauterbrunnen Valley, and captivates visitors with its peaceful, unspoilt atmosphere. Away from the main tourist crowds, the village has retained its authentic character and offers an impressive panorama of the world-famous peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The village lies off the beaten track and has a charm all of its own.
Here you will find unspoilt nature, unique geological landscapes and a vibrant mountain culture. A popular destination is Sulwald at 1,520 metres above sea level, which can be reached on foot or comfortably by the small cable car.
The nostalgic cable car has connected Isenfluh with Sulwald since 1975 and is an experience in itself: it can carry eight people or a cow and symbolises traditional mountain life.
