The MiniMuseum gives anyone interested access to the history of Mürren. It presents important cultural and socio-historical themes and provides a link to the present day. The MiniMuseum Mürren is a showcase exhibition that is renewed annually.

100 years of poster art, a pictorial history of tourism in the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Exhibition of the Jungfrau Region tourism destination with Mürren and the Mürren Mini Museum.

Advertising wants to awaken a desire for something new. The historical development of tourism can be traced using tourist advertising posters from the Jungfrau region.

Which people does the advertising appeal to? What desires do the posters awaken?

Switzerland is known for its high-quality advertising graphics from very early on. This is impressively demonstrated by the posters advertising the Lauterbrunnen Valley between 1880 and 1980. The Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau became iconic images not only for Lauterbrunnen, Wengen and Mürren, but also for the Bernese Oberland and Switzerland as a whole.
 The images created by the advertising artists characterise the public's imagination. They make the Alpine landscape appear attractive. At the same time, the visual language and subjects respond to changes in people's needs and desires. They promise nature, pleasure, luxury, relaxation and health.

The advertising posters can be read as sources for the history of tourism: from the first railway posters to the images of mountain landscapes and sporting pleasures to the advertising material for high mountain tourist facilities.

Using a selection of advertising posters from around 100 years, the double exhibition in Mürren and Wengen shows how Alpine tourism has changed.
