Mürren in winter

Mürren mit Panorama im Abendrot.

Would you like to conquer the steepest ski slope? Do you fancy a winter hike through snow-covered landscapes? Would you like to follow in the footsteps of James Bond? Or would you prefer a snowball fight? Either way, you'll find what you're looking for in Mürren.

On the trail of James Bond

"On Her Majesty's Secret Service", perhaps the best Bond film of all time, is set on the Schilthorn in 1969 - at almost 3,000 metres above sea level. The 360-degree revolving restaurant Piz Gloria owes its name to the film. In Spy World, the interactive exhibition about the film, you can immerse yourself in the filming process on a tour.

Thrills and breathtaking views. That's what you get on the First Cliff Walk. The steel construction on Birg, the intermediate station of the Schilthorn cableway, leads along the cliff and ends with a 45-metre-long footbridge out into the void. Wow!

Spectacular ski and toboggan runs

The Mürren-Schilthorn ski area has 13 lifts and a total of 56 kilometres of pistes. These lead from the village up to the summit of the Schilthorn at 2970 metres above sea level - making the ski area the highest in the Bernese Oberland. Due to the guaranteed snow, it usually remains open until the end of April. Here you can tackle the steepest piste in the region. The Direttissima (no. 9) has a gradient of 88 per cent. If you need even more action, you can let off steam in the Skyline Snowpark. Or how about a ride down a ski cross course? Meanwhile, on Mürren's local mountain, the Allmendhubel, Lilly's magical Kidsslope will make children's eyes light up. You can also enjoy spectacular views of the snow-covered peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau on a sledge. On the Apollo Run, a rapid descent from Schiltgrat to Mürren. Or on the bob sled run from Allmendhubel to Mürren, which is ideal for beginners.
