Difficulty
The via ferrata is categorised as grade K3 (fairly difficult) on the SAC via ferrata scale.
In some sections you are already on steeper
steeper rocky terrain, but the route is
secured. Steep or vertical
passages are defused by ladders or iron clamps. Wire ropes also secure the climber in less difficult terrain. Self-belaying is necessary as this via ferrata is very exposed.
Security
If you want to attempt the via ferrata, you need to be in good physical condition, sure-footed and have a head for heights, have suitable equipment and know how to behave on the mountain.
If you are inexperienced, it is advisable to complete the via ferrata
together with a mountain guide. It's not just about technique, but also about assessing the risks, physical condition and general safety. The tour can only be undertaken in good weather

A carabiner always remains on the safety rope.
The use of the Tyrolienne is only permitted
for safety reasons only when accompanied by a
mountain guide. Therefore, please respect the fact that the corresponding facility
is locked.
Access to the Basejump platform is prohibited for
visitors to the via ferrata.
Route description
Access via ferrata
The start of the via ferrata is located in
car-free Mürren. You can reach it with the
Schilthorn railway from Stechelberg or with the
Lauterbrunnen-Mürren mountain railway from
Lauterbrunnen. Once you arrive in Mürren, you walk about 10 minutes along the lower
Dorfstrasse to the Sportchalet Mürren.
Access through the tunnel on the south side of the retaining wall of the tennis courts.

The via ferrata is only open from 1 June to 31 October from 09:00 - 18:00.
Riggli, Gimmelwald & Lobhörner
Climbing
While the Riggli and Gimmelwald climbing gardens and the via ferrata offer ideal destinations for different levels of difficulty, the climbing tour over the Lobhörner requires a little more alpine experience and surefootedness.
